BURTON BRIDGE MINISTRY TEAMS WITH CROWDSOURCE

Burton Bridge Ministries is teaming with a Houston-based organization that uses next-generation technology to quickly connect both professional first-responders and vetted volunteers.

CrowdSource Rescue has expanded to the Brazos Valley area. The mapping and dispatching technology first came into service during Tropical Storm Harvey and has now been activated for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Registered clients in Burton and surrounding areas are eligible to receive groceries from Bridge Ministry of Burton, a local nonprofit that has been added as a pantry of record.

Burton Bridge Ministry President Madeline Johnson says “For the Burton area, especially, this service is especially critical.”

Johnson says, “One of the best features of this service is that seniors and other high-risk individuals can telephone the Brazos Valley Food Bank to set up the food delivery.  Since not all clients are tech savvy, this feature makes it easy to place an order.”

Johnson says the organization is delighted to partner with CrowdSource Rescue and Brazos Valley Food Bank in providing this service to Burton area clients.
