SPRING MAN ARRESTED AFTER LOCAL HIGH-SPEED CHASE SUNDAY

  

A Sunday morning chase led to the arrest of a Spring man by Brenham Police.

Just after 8:00 a.m., local police tried to stop a speeding east-bound vehicle in the 800 block of Highway 290 East.

According to Cpl. Tommy Kurie, the vehicle had passed a number of vehicles on the right-side shoulder at a high rate of speed.

The chase led into Waller County, where Brenham Police were assisted by the Waller County Sheriff’s Department, Prairie View Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Waller Police Department.

Eventually, after the use of numerous spike strips, the vehicle was stopped near Owens Road, east of Prairie View.

18-year old William Campbell of Spring, was taken into custody on charges of Evading Arrest With a Vehicle and Possession of Marijuana.

He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
