WASHINGTON CO. REPORTS EIGHT NEW COVID-19 CASES WEDNESDAY; TOTAL COUNT AT 373, ACTIVE COUNT AT 159
33RD PATIENT DEATH REPORTED
Eight new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Wednesday in Washington County, raising the county’s total case count to 373 and its active count to 159.
Wednesday’s cases were reported in four men and four women, all from Brenham. The patients range in age from their teens to their 40s, including two teenagers.
Of the currently active cases, one patient remains hospitalized. County officials say 181 patients have recovered from the virus.
The county also reported its 33rd death in connection to COVID-19, but officials with the Joint Information Center (JIC) said they were only recently notified by the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) about the death, which occurred June 24th.
According to the JIC, the 373 positive cases—including recovered and deceased patients—make up 1.04 percent of the population within the county.
As of Wednesday, the county has performed an estimated 4,148 COVID-19 tests.
