BLINN ESPORTS TEAMS TO BEGIN TRYOUTS MONDAY
Blinn College is beginning tryouts next week for its new esports teams.

According to Blinn esports coach Aaron Kapiko, tryouts for the coed teams will begin Monday. Fulltime students from all Blinn campuses are eligible to try out. Almost 70 students have already applied for the tryouts.
Teams will be based on the Brenham and Bryan campuses, but members from other campuses will be able to participate remotely much of the time.
Kapiko said for each of their respective games, teams will practice three or four times a week and then compete one or two times a week, depending on the game or league they are in. He said some games are broken down by region while others are with teams from anywhere in the country, but it ultimately depends on the game being played.
In addition to players, Blinn is also recruiting students to help with production, streaming, casting, content creation, and social media.
Students can sign up for tryouts at www.blinn.edu/esports. They also can ask questions and get more information through Blinn esports' official Discord server.
