BRENHAM GUNS AND HOSES BLOOD DRIVE FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AT FIREMAN’S TRAINING CENTER
The annual Brenham Guns and Hoses Blood Drive gets underway starting tomorrow (Friday).
The two-day blood drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday at the Fireman’s Training Center.
Coffee, juice, soft drinks and donuts will be available in the morning, with a light lunch served starting at 11 a.m. Childcare will be available.
Brenham Fire Department Second Assistant Chief Rob Aguilar said donors will have plenty of room to socially distance, and this year there will be an added incentive to give blood, apart from the free voucher for a pint of Blue Bell Ice Cream.
Aguilar said donors will get their antibody test results in about seven days. They will receive a code to use online to check their results, which are kept confidential.
Donors are asked to bring their ID. Masks will be required.
To schedule an appointment, visit www.giveblood.org or www.commitforlife.org and use sponsor code L126, or contact Aguilar at 979-451-2612. Walk-ins are welcome.
KTEX-106's Holly Ryder and Blake Hickerson will be at the Fireman's Training Center tomorrow and Saturday, respectively, broadcasting live from the friendly country cruiser.
