BRENHAM P.D. URGES CAUTION ONCE SCHOOL BEGINS, TUESDAY
The Brenham Police Department is reminding the public of a few things before the new school year starts this Tuesday.
Commuters are reminded that school zones will be active and you will need to make sure to travel at the reduced posted speed limit.
While in school zones cellular devices can only be used in hands-free mode under city ordinance.
It is also unlawful to pass a school bus with flashing red signals or stop sign visible from the front and rear. Drivers who illegally pass a school bus could face fines of up to $1,250 for a first offense.
As always there will be increased traffic and some congestion around the schools.
Drivers are asked to please be patient and leave your homes earlier to ensure that you arrive at school and / or work on time.
