WALLER CO. FAIR TO HOLD MANY OF INITIALLY PLANNED ACTIVITIES

The 75th Waller County Fair is making some adjustments, but plans to continue on with most scheduled activities.

In an announcement Saturday night on Facebook, fair officials say they feel they are obliged to “continue the unwavering dedication of those who came before” to mark this 75th anniversary of the fair.  They say while things may be different this year, they are “determined to conduct a modified fair in the safest and most efficient way possible”.

Events that will be held in accordance with social distancing guidelines include the queens contest, livestock judging, livestock show, exhibit auction, bull fighting, bull riding, welding competition, creative living – auction categories, roping events, PRCA rodeo, and arena concerts.

Activities that fair officials feel are not appropriate to hold include the carnival, talent show, senior citizen wellness fair, VIP appreciation area, Barnyard Buddies, Ag Voyage, creative living – open categories, wagon wheel, and buyers luncheon.  Food will be served to buyers during the auction.

Tickets are now on sale for the fair, set for September 26th through October 3rd at the Waller County Fairgrounds in Hempstead.
