FIRST DAY OF COURSES IN THE BOOKS FOR BLINN
Day one is a wrap for Blinn College, who on Monday began a fall semester unlike any other.
Course offerings began Monday in person and remotely for students and faculty across Blinn’s Brenham, Bryan, RELLIS, Schulenberg, and Sealy campuses. Four course formats are being offered to students, all of which feature some online component.
In an email sent to faculty, staff, and students Monday, Blinn Chancellor Dr. Mary Hensley went over the district’s reopening plans and procedures. The “Back With Blinn” plan, available at www.blinn.edu/back-with-blinn, contains information on campus health and safety, tips for stopping the spread of COVID-19, the College’s self-certification process, academics, classroom procedures, campus housing, and campus services and activities.
Dr. Hensley reminded faculty and students that they are required to wear a face mask or face covering while on campus, noting that those who wear face shields must also wear face coverings.
Employees and students are also required to daily self-certify that they have not tested positive for COVID-19, are not showing symptoms, and have not been in the presence of anyone who has. They can complete the process by registering a Blinn email address with the college’s self-certification service, www.campusclear.com, which will send them a daily notification to take a brief health survey. Dr. Hensley asked all employees and students to complete the process daily, even if they do not plan to attend campus some days.
All students have received a COVID-19 training course through their Blinn email. They must complete the training to keep access to the College’s online instruction platform, eCampus.
Dr. Hensley thanked faculty and staff for their work these past few months to prepare for a “safe and successful term”, and thanked students for choosing Blinn College.
