COUNTY MAN RECEIVES PROBATION FOR 2018 ASSAULT

A Washington County man has been placed on probation for his part in a 2018 assault at a local convenience store.
20-year old Kelvin James Levi, Jr., of Washington, was place on 10 years’ probation for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity – a First Degree Felony and Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon – a Second Degree Felony.
Levi was one of four men arrested for a November 2018 shooting incident at the Valero Station on Highway 105 in Brenham. No one was struck by the gunfire following a dance at the American Legion Hall that evening.
Levi was also fined $1,000, ordered to perform 300 hours community service, ordered to spend 180 days in the Washington County Jail, and have no contact with the victim, criminal street gangs, or with co- defendants in this case.
Also in 21st District Court:
41-year old Martin Rodriguez-Rodriguez of Brenham, received three years in prison for Third Offense Driving While Intoxicated—a Third Degree Felony. Rodriguez was also fine $100.
30-year old Francisco Javier Lopez of Brenham was sentenced to 91 days in the Washington County Jail for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member – a Class A Misdemeanor.
Also in District Court this week, after a hearing, the Court granted judicial clemency for Michael Wayne Robinson, who pleaded guilty in September of 2010 to Arson with a charge of Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon taken into consideration.
In October of 2016, the Court found after a hearing on a Motion to Revoke that Robinson committed the new offense of Assault of a Family Member by Impeding Breath, but left Robinson on probation.
The Court, over the State’s objection, has allowed Robinson to withdraw his plea and dismissed the case against him.
