SEALY MAYORAL RACE TO FEATURE FORMER MAYOR, FORMER AUSTIN CO. JUDGE

An upcoming election to replace the mayor of Sealy will feature two candidates who are certainly no stranger to the area.

Former Austin County Judge and Sealy City Councilmember Carolyn Bilski has filed for the seat, along with former Sealy Mayor Nick Tirey.

The two are vying for the position held by current Mayor Janice Whitehead, who is resigning after stating she would be moving out of the city in September.

Bilski served as county judge for 20 years and on the city council for eight years.  Tirey, first elected to the council in 2005, was elected mayor in 2008, re-elected in 2011, and term limited in 2014.

The election will be held in conjunction with the General Election on November 3rd.
