NTSB REPORT INDICATES PLANE INVOLVED IN CRASH AT BRYAN AIRPORT WAS RECENTLY PURCHASED

A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) states the plane involved in a crash that killed three and injured one last week at Coulter Field in Bryan was recently purchased.

According to the report, the pilot who purchased the Piper PA-24-250 single-engine plane did so about a week before the accident, which occurred Sunday, August 30th around 2:30 p.m.

The crash killed the pilot, 54-year-old David Walker, along with his wife and daughter, 51-year-old Tamara Walker and 21-year-old Victoria Walker.  Luke Armstrong, identified as Victoria’s boyfriend, remains hospitalized with critical injuries.

The Walkers, all of Farmersville, were laid to rest this weekend.  The report states David was taking his family on a sightseeing flight of the local area.

The report does not give a cause of the crash, but does say the wreckage was moved to a secure location for additional examination.
