BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT TO USE NEW PROCESS FOR FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTORS
The Brenham Fire Department has announced it will implement a new process for all locally licensed fire protection contractors.
This will affect those who inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems within the City of Brenham.
Assistant Fire Chief and Fire Marshal Roger Williams says “The internet-based tool, The Compliance Engine, will assist the Brenham Fire Department in tracking and ensuring the reliability of fire protection systems within the jurisdiction.”
Williams says “Accurate and timely inspection reporting, combined with this new tracking capability, will not only reduce false fire alarms, but also ensure all systems are tested, as well as expedite repairs of fire protection systems.”
This means contractors will register with The Compliance Engine and then electronically submit all fire protection system inspection, test, and maintenance (ITM) reports to the Department. Currently, all reports are sent directly to the Fire Department.
Once a fire protection system inspection is reported, business owners/property managers are automatically sent an electronic notification of any system deficiencies requiring service or repair.
Brenham Fire Chief Ricky Boeker stated, “By having this automated system, it ensures the appropriate upkeep occurs and ultimately saving time, money, and potentially people’s lives. This will be a valuable tool for the Brenham Fire Marshal and our local businesses.”
