Festival officials have confirmed the fifth installment of the event for Friday, October 16th and Saturday, October 17th, in collaboration with the City of Brenham’s Hot Nights, Cool Tunes Concert Series.  The festival will feature two live murals, an art village, live music, food trucks, and other activities.

Brad Stufflebeam of the Texas Arts and Music Festival Foundation said while this festival will look different as there will be no VIP tent or indoor art installations, the foundation is “excited to be able to bring an outdoor event for the community that can be enjoyed at a safe social distance”.  Festival attendees are encouraged to wear a mask and socially distance as much as possible.

Two new murals will be added to downtown Brenham’s growing collection of art.  The featured mural artists are Tara Johnston and Luis Angulo, both of Austin.  The artists will begin painting earlier in the week and continue during the festivals, completing their murals Saturday evening.  An Art Village will also take place that Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

City of Brenham Community Services Specialist Crystal Locke said the city is happy to partner with the Texas Arts and Music Festival by offering two of the city’s previously postponed concerts in conjunction with the event.  The Texas Unlimited Band will begin on the main stage in the parking lot by Commerce Street at 7 p.m. on the 16th, with the Journey cover band ESCAPE following at 7 p.m. on the 17th.

The Texas Arts and Music Festival is a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing an event for art and music lovers to enjoy, while also raising money for local art programs.  The festival has provided support for area school programs in Brenham, Burton, and Sealy.
