HIDDEN CASH LOCATED ON BUS IN FAYETTE COUNTY

  

A hidden compartment containing over $186,000 was located on a bus on I-10 Sunday.

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Sunday afternoon around 1:55 pm Reserve Drug Interdiction Investigator Jeremy Ellison conducted a traffic stop on a Bus traveling west bound on I-10 for a traffic violation.  After interviewing the driver who gave inconsistent stories about his travel pattern and other criminal indicators were observed. Consent to search the bus was given and during the search concealed compartments were located.  In one of the concealed compartments, Ellison located several vacuumed sealed packages which contained United States Currency.  Arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail was 55 yr. old of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Salazar was charged with Money Laundering. The total amount of concealed currency totaled $186,070.00.
