BRENHAM MAN ACCUSED OF SHOPLIFTING OVER $1,200 IN MERCHANDISE AT BRYAN WALMART

  

A Brenham man is free on bond after being arrested earlier this week, accused of shoplifting over $1,200 in items from the Walmart in west Bryan.

According to an arrest report from Bryan police, an officer and store employee watched 42-year-old Joshua Tacitus Clay pick up what was determined to be 25 items.

Merchandise recovered by police included a $299 robot vacuum, a $219 electric mixer, a $180 jump starter, and several other clothing, bedding, and household items.  The total list of merchandise was valued at $1,265.

According to the arrest report, Clay has three previous theft convictions, two in Harris County and one in Fort Bend County.

After being booked into the Brazos County Jail Sunday, Clay was released Monday on $30,000 bond.
