The Washington County Ladies Lions Club has donated $5,000 to support a cure for childhood cancer.

At its meeting Monday, the club donated $5,000 to the Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) childhood cancer project.

Funds are from the club’s recent annual fundraiser that targeted childhood cancer with the proceeds.

Club President Peggy Kramer said as September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, this was the perfect time to make the donation.
