FAYETTE CO. PREPPING TO HOST HOST ROUND TOP FALL ANTIQUES SHOW
Fall antiques season is coming to Round Top later this month, although it will certainly take on a new look due to COVID-19.
The annual Round Top Fall Antiques Show gets underway Thursday, October 15th, after being pushed back from September.
Fayette County officials last month gave the final go-ahead for the show after a committee appointed by the Round Top Town Council formed a plan to hold the event.
The plan includes occupancy limits at indoor venues, sanitation stations at outdoor venues, temperature checks for workers, and mask-wearing.
Show venues have agreed to adopt enhanced health standards for their individual shows to include mandatory masks for shoppers and dealers when social distancing cannot be achieved, shopping set up to ease the ability to remain socially distant, capacity limits according to current state standards, and enhanced hand-sanitizing facilities.
Back in March, the county ordered the cancellation of the Spring Antiques Show due to growing concerns about the coronavirus. While Fayette County had no cases of COVID-19 at the time, county officials expressed worries about bringing large amounts of travelers into the county, which has a large senior citizen population.
