AREA COMMUNITIES GATHER FOR NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

  

Tuesday provided the opportunity for area law enforcement and emergency officials to meet with community members for Texas’ National Night Out.

Gatherings and celebrations were held across the Brazos Valley, with several block parties in Washington County hosting Brenham police, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, EMS, and emergency dispatchers.

This year’s theme for National Night Out was Hometown Heroes, recognizing all those who have helped Washington County residents work through the COVID-19 pandemic.

KWHI and KTEX-106 were also out and about throughout the evening, traveling to parties in Brenham, Burton, Beaver Creek and Caldwell, as well as a first responders parade in Navasota.

National Night Out was created in 1984 as a crime prevention program to help build and strengthen relationships between local communities and authorities.
