NEW ONE-DAY RECORD FOR EARLY VOTING IN WASHINGTON CO.
Early voting for November’s general election got off to a record-breaking start in Washington County Tuesday.

According to County Clerk Beth Rothermel, Tuesday saw 1,316 voters cast early ballots in person at the Washington County Courthouse Annex. Rothermel believes the number to be a new record for one-day early voting, as the county had 1,206 voters on the first day of early voting in 2016, and 1,292 in 2018.
Rothermel said the entire day was busy, with a line forming outside the courthouse annex just after 7 a.m. and continuing nearly all day. Despite the brisk pace, Rothermel said election administrators were pleased with how smooth the day went.
Early voting continues through October 30th. Early voting hours at the courthouse annex are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, 12 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from October 19-23, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on October 24th, 12 to 3 p.m. on October 25th, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from October 26-30. Election Day is November 3rd, and polls will be open that day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
