RHEAD ROBBINS MEMORIAL FUNDRAISER, FISHING TOURNAMENT SATURDAY
An upcoming fundraiser and fishing tournament will look to honor the memory of a recent Brenham High School graduate.
This Saturday, Wild Bill’s, just south of Rocky Creek Park at Lake Somerville, will be the site of the fundraiser in memory of Rhead Robbins, who was killed in July 2019 in a car accident north of Brenham. Robbins graduated in May 2019 from Brenham High School with honors, and was a member of the of the Cub Football team.
The fundraiser and tournament was initially scheduled for April 4th, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Check-in for the fishing tournament will begin at 6:30 a.m., with weigh-in at 2:30 p.m. Barbecue pork sandwiches will be served. There will also be music and entertainment from 2 to 6 p.m., a silent auction, and gun and bucket drawings.
Entry into the tournament is $50 per team of two, and $10 for ages 12 and under. Proceeds will benefit the Rhead Robbins Memorial Fund, going toward Brenham High School college scholarships for Peer Assistance Leadership (PALs) and athletics, as well as St. Paul’s Christian Day School scholarships.
