BURTON JUNIOR HIGH X-COUNTRY RUNS AT LEXINGTON

 

Wednesday the Burton Junior High Cross Country team traveled to Lexington to take part in an invitational meet.

Due to COVID restrictions, each division was divided into two separate races.

The Lady Panthers put forth a commanding performance, finishing 2nd in their race and 3rd overall out of 21 schools, scoring ahead of numerous larger 3A and 4A teams.

All five Lady Panthers scoring points were awarded medals.  Finishing 1st for the Panthers, 3rd in her race, and 7th overall out of 118 runners was Peyton Sigsbee.  Also scoring for the Panthers were Reagan Roemer (23 of 118), Peyton Wamble (25 of 118), Melanie Wood 28 (of 118), and Kelsie Holt (41of 118).

The boys team placed 8th overall out of 21 schools across the two races.

Brady Griffin finished 1st for the Panthers and 20th out of 129 racers and was awarded a medal.  Also scoring for the Panthers were Colton Broesche (32 of 129), Trayce Babich (44 of 129), Devlin Douglas (69 of 129), and Tony Pritchett (98 of 129).

The Burton Panthers conclude their season with the District Meet in Caldwell at Davidson Creek Park on Wednesday, October 28th.
