BURTON RUNNERS COMPETE AT LEXINGTON MEET

The Burton Cross Country teams raced in their last invitational meet this past Saturday, at Memorial Park in Lexington.

The meet was highly competitive, with 156 runners across 3 different races.

Scoring for the Panthers were Jakori Mathis, Tryston Babich, Eli Saunders, Jett Cowan, and Cannon Manley.  Also racing were Kolby Vavrecka and Trevor Renninger. While no medals were awarded, many Panthers walked away with season best times today.

For the Lady Panthers, the competition was equally fierce, with 123 runners competing across 3 separate races.  Leading the Lady Panthers was Victoria Weisepape, in her debut meet.  She was followed by Karime Ortiz, Kaylynn Vavrecka, and Kirsting Dyess.

Both squads will be racing at the District 26/AA meet next Wednesday, October 28th in Davidson Creek Park.

Top racers will advance to the Regional Meet in Corpus Christi.
