VOTING SLOWS HEADING INTO FINAL EARLY VOTING DAYS
As early voting for November’s general election winds down, daily turnout in Washington County continues to dwindle.
County Clerk Beth Rothermel says 423 in-person early voters cast ballots Wednesday at the Washington County Courthouse Annex. That brings the total to 11,812 voters through 16 days of early voting.
Rothermel said it is a bit surprising that the number of voters continues to go down, that could be attributed somewhat to the colder weather the past two days. She anticipates turnout to be larger these last few days.
Voters now only have today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) to cast ballots early. The courthouse annex will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Anyone who waits until Election Day on Tuesday to vote will have to go to their designated polling location. A list of the 15 polling locations in the county is available online at www.co.washington.tx.us.
