DOWNTOWN BRENHAM MAKING PREPARATIONS FOR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS STROLL, LIGHTED PARADE

Plans are underway for the City of Brenham’s annual Christmas Stroll and Lighted Parade.

Two days of activities to kick off the holiday season are scheduled for Friday, December 4th and Saturday, December 5th in downtown Brenham, including holiday shopping, music, dance performances, a community Christmas tree lighting, and the lighted parade through downtown.

The holiday fun begins on Friday with the Jingle Bell Market at the Ant Street Inn from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., followed by the First Friday Farmer and Artisan Market on Baylor Street from 3 to 7 p.m.

Events continue on Saturday with a second day of shopping at the Jingle Bell Market from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., along with the Taste of Christmas, a shop and sample event around downtown from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The day will round out with the lighted Christmas parade at 6 p.m.  The theme for this year’s parade is “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”

Plans have not been announced for some activities normally held in previous years, such as Breakfast with Santa.  Event organizers say plans for this year’s Christmas Stroll and Lighted Parade are fluid as they continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic.

Parade participants will not be able to throw candy from floats this year.  Attendees are asked to wear face coverings, regularly wash their hands, and socially distance.  There will be hand sanitizing stations located throughout the event area.

Parade entry forms can be submitted online at https://jingle.cityofbrenham.org through Tuesday, November 24th.  More information is also available on the website, or on the Downtown Brenham Facebook page.
