AGGIES DEALING WITH COVID CASES
MONDAY PRACTICE MOVED TO 'VIRTUAL' MEETINGS
Texas A&M head football coach Jimbo Fisher paused practice on Monday afternoon due to multiple positive COVID-19 tests.
The team met virtually on zoom.
A&M Defensive Back Demani Richardson did not make the trip to Columbia, South Carolina, due to a positive COVID-19 test, and upon return from the game there have been two more positive cases show up on the team, one player and one staff member.
The positive tests were discovered during the team's routine Sunday tests.
A&M Athletic Director Ross Bjork told ESPN there are "over a dozen" players who will be out for 14 days because of contact tracing protocols, with "no way out of it." Bjork added that injuries and opt-outs also will impact whether or not the Aggies can field a roster with 53 scholarship players for their Saturday afternoon game at Tennessee. That game is scheduled for 2:30 on KWHI.
Already, Auburn and Mississippi State have post-poned their game. The Alabama-LSU game is also in danger after a slew of positive tests reported by the Tigers' program.
