FAYETTE CO. TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO MAJOR COCAINE ARREST

  

 

A New Mexico man is in custody on drug charges following a Friday traffic stop in Fayette County.

Just before 11:00 a.m., the Fayette Co. Sheriff’s Department pulled over a Ford pickup on I-10 near Flatonia on a traffic stop.

According to Sgt. Randy Thumann, his K9 partner Kolt alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics.

Authorities discovered 78.5 kilos of cocaine, concealed in a spare tire under the bed of the truck.  The cocaine has a street value of over $850,000.

29-year old Eduardo Sandoval of New Mexico was taken into custody.  He is charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Sandoval was taken to the Dan R. Buck Justice Center in LaGrange.
