SEALY FANTASY OF LIGHTS WILL GO ON – WITH ADJUSTMENTS

The Fantasy of Lights celebration in Sealy will go on this year, but it has seen some changes.

Instead of cancelling the festival outright due to COVID-19 concerns, the Sealy City Council on Wednesday agreed to allow the Sealy Community Foundation to proceed with plans for a trimmed-down version of the festival, scheduled for next weekend.

The Fantasy of Lights parade will continue, but it will take an adjusted and shortened route.  The parade will take place Saturday, December 5th beginning at 6 p.m., and will go down Main Street and Atchison Street.  Social distancing and masks will be strongly recommended.

Events such as the barbecue cook-off and softball tournament have been cancelled, but the gingerbread house decorating contest and coloring contest will go on.  The Jingle Bell Fun Run will now take place as a virtual event, tasking runners to run on their own and submit their recorded times.
