WINNERS ANNOUNCED IN ‘BATTLE OF THE BARTENDERS: ROUND II’

The title of best bartender in Brenham was up for grabs Saturday at the second installment of the “Battle of the Bartenders” competition, hosted by Las Americas Latin Cuisine.

Crowds made their way over to South St. Charles Street and Commerce Street, where seven teams attempted to make the best Bloody Marys, margaritas, and a cocktail of their choice.

The overall winner of the competition was Bobby Stewart with The Kenney Store.  Stewart won the grand prize of $500 and a grand champion wrestling belt.  Stewart also won $250 for best margarita.

The $250 prize for best Bloody Mary went to Beka Bogert with 3B’s Cakes.

Ed Warner, an individual bartender, won the Bartender’s Choice award of $250, as well as $100 for best hospitality.

Competing bartenders were Bogert, Stewart, and Warner, along with Aja Smith of Shooters Saloon, individual bartender Rachel Lacina-Taylor, Todd Johnson of Branded Beauty Plus, and Chase Woodlock of HSF Biergarten.

KWHI and KTEX-106 were among the sponsors for the event.
