TEN KILOS OF COCAINE CONFISCATED DURING FAYETTE CO. TRAFFIC STOP

Fayette County’s Narcotics K-9 Unit seized roughly 10 kilos of cocaine during a traffic stop Tuesday.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m., Sergeant Randy Thumann and K-9 Kolt stopped a Chevy Silverado on I-10 at the 658 mile marker for a traffic violation.
After speaking with the driver, who the Sheriff’s Office says was traveling from Mexico to Houston, Sgt. Thumann became suspicious that the vehicle may be involved in smuggling illegal narcotics. He received consent to search the vehicle and deployed Kolt, who alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics.
