PANDEMIC COULD CAUSE MOST TEXANS TO STAY HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

AAA Texas says they expect most Texans will be staying home this holiday season.

Officials says public health concerns and travel guidance are influencing people’s decisions not to travel over the holidays, a period that typically sees high travel demand.

AAA expects as many as 6.8 million Texans may still travel from Dec. 23 through Jan. 3, a decline in travel of at least 29%.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) urges Americans not to travel for the holidays this year, warning that travel increases your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19.

Many holiday travelers say they are continuing to take a wait-and-see approach to their travel decisions.
