COVID-19 VACCINES TO BE DISTRIBUTED THIS WEEK TO PROVIDERS IN BRENHAM, SURROUNDING REGION
Texas is slated to receive over 620,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines this week, thousands of which will be distributed to providers in Brenham and the surrounding area.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will deliver over 460,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine and nearly 160,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. The doses are expected to begin arriving today (Monday) at providers like hospitals, freestanding emergency rooms, EMS providers, pharmacies, local health departments, health centers and other clinics. They will be used to vaccinate front-line healthcare workers and residents of long-term care facilities.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), 400 doses of the Moderna vaccine will arrive this week in Brenham. Of that total, 300 will be given to the Brookshire Brothers pharmacy, and 100 will go to the H-E-B pharmacy.
In Austin County, 500 doses will be sent to the Brookshire Brothers pharmacy in Bellville.
In Brazos County, 3,900 doses will be distributed in Bryan and College Station. In Bryan, 2,300 will go to the St. Joseph Hospital, 500 to the Brookshire Brothers pharmacy, 100 each to the H-E-B pharmacies on East Villa Maria Road and North Texas Avenue, and 100 to Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation. In College Station, 300 will be sent to the CHI St. Joseph Hospital, 200 to CHI St. Joseph Primary Care, and 100 each to the H-E-B pharmacies on South Texas Avenue, William D. Fitch Parkway, and FM 2154.
Burleson County will receive 200 vaccine doses, 100 apiece going to the Brookshire Brothers pharmacies in Caldwell and Somerville.
Fayette County will get 600 doses, 500 to St. Mark’s Medical Center and 100 to the H-E-B pharmacy in La Grange.
In Grimes County, 300 doses will be sent to the Brookshire Brothers pharmacy in Navasota.
Lee County is expecting 300 doses to be sent to the Brookshire Brothers pharmacy in Giddings.
Waller County will receive 800 doses, 500 going to the Brookshire Brothers pharmacy in Brookshire, and 300 to the Brookshire Brothers pharmacy in Hempstead.
No locations in the region are expected to receive doses of the Pfizer vaccine in this second week of vaccine distribution. Last week, Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in College Station received 975 doses.
