POLICE CHASE OUT OF WALLER ENDS IN WASHINGTON CO. AFTER VEHICLE SPIKE-STRIPPED

  

Limited details are available in regards to a police pursuit late Saturday night that began in Waller County and ended in Washington County.

The Waller Police Department was the lead agency with the pursuit, which came out of Waller and led authorities down Highway 290.  Brenham police received a call for assistance shortly after 11:30 p.m., while DPS also assisted.

According to Brenham Police Chief of Staff Christi Korth, Brenham police deployed spike strips on Highway 290 near the city limits.  The spike attempt was successful, and the pursuit ended just before midnight on Highway 36 North near FM 1948.

Scanner traffic indicated one person was taken into custody.  Details have not been released on what led to the chase or on what charges the yet-to-be-named suspect may be facing.

KWHI has requested further information from the Waller Police Department and is awaiting response.
