BRENHAM, WASHINGTON CO. OFFICES CLOSED FOR NEW YEAR’S DAY

  

Government offices across Washington County will be closed today (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) in celebration of New Year’s Day.

Brenham City Hall will be closed today and tomorrow, while county offices will close at noon today and remain closed tomorrow.

Brenham Municipal Court and Brenham Animal Services will be closed, while the Blue Bell Aquatic Center will also be closed on Saturday.

The Collection/Transfer and Recycling Station will be closed tomorrow, but will have regular hours otherwise.

The Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library is closed today through Sunday.

The Brenham and Washington County Visitor Center will be closed today and tomorrow, but will have regular hours over the weekend.

There will not be any residential or commercial trash pickups on New Year’s Day.

Residential trash pickups will be made on Saturday following the holiday.  Friday customers should place their trash carts out by 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Commercial front-load routes will be made current on Saturday after New Year’s Day.

Residents are reminded to avoid overfilling their carts during the holiday by boxing or bagging any excess waste and placing it next to their carts on their normal pickup days.

The offices of Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative will also be closed tomorrow, but members can still access their account information and make payments through the co-op’s website at www.bluebonnet.coop.  Members can also report power outages through the website, through the co-op’s mobile app, or by calling 800-949-4414.  Should an outage occur, Bluebonnet personnel will be on call to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

Students in Brenham and Burton ISD will return to class next week.  The first day of classes is Tuesday for Brenham ISD and Wednesday for Burton ISD.
