RECORD SNOWFALL IN PARTS OF BRAZOS VALLEY
Sunday’s winter storm that swept through the area was one for the record books for much of the Brazos Valley.
While the Brenham/Washington County area saw just over an inch of snowfall, many areas north of the county had drastically more precipitation.
Franklin and Normangee each report 8-1/2 inches of snow; Milano and Hearne, 6 inches; Caldwell, 5-1/2 inches; Iola, 5 inches; Bryan/College Station, 4-1/2 inches; and Navasota 2-to-4 inches in some areas;
The snow is not expected to last long, with temperatures in the area forecast to be in the mid-40’s by this afternoon. However, the melting snow could freeze into a dangerous sheet of ice overnight, with temperatures expected to reach around 27 degrees.
