PART OF 2021 MS 150 WILL START IN LA GRANGE, PASS THROUGH BURTON

The Texas MS 150 will be a one-day event this year on May 1st, and one of this year’s routes will lead bicyclists through Washington County.

The annual bike ride to raise funds for multiple sclerosis is typically held over two days with an overnight stop in La Grange, but changes are being made to the event due to COVID-19.

Riders will choose between four different start locations: Legacy Stadium in Katy, Cypress Woods High School in Cypress, Waller Stadium in Waller, and a to-be-determined spot in La Grange.

The La Grange route will assume the originally planned Day Two route from 2020, and will pass through Carmine, Burton, Somerville and Snook.  Riders will stop for lunch on the shores of Lake Somerville before heading into College Station, where they will meet up with the Houston riders.

All Houston-area routes will head west and northwest through rural Harris and Waller counties, converging east of Fields Store.  They will stop for lunch in Whitehall and ride through Navasota, heading along the Brazos River towards Millican and then into College Station.

Once all riders meet in College Station, they will pass the Bell Tower, go up Gene Stallings Boulevard, and ride around the Plaza before entering Kyle Field and finishing on the 50-yard line.

All volunteers and staff will be required to wear masks at all times.  Riders will not be required to wear masks while riding outdoors.  Participants will be asked to practice social distancing, frequently wash their hands, use hand sanitizer, and not participate if they are not feeling well or if they are showing any signs of illness.
