NEW BEGINNINGS LIFE MINISTRIES NAMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

New Beginnings Life Ministries in Brenham has named a new executive director.
Melissa Lasater will assume the role of executive director for the ministry effective this month, and will be responsible for all aspects of the ministry’s performance.
Lasater, who worked previously for the Tomball Pregnancy Center, will succeed Melinda VanOstrand, who is retiring after six years of service with the ministry.
Lasater says she is looking forward to learning about the Brenham community and discovering new ways to be of service.
New Beginnings Board President Shane Nelson said Lasater “brings decades of corporate leadership into the non-profit sector and provides much needed energy, passion, and vision to the ministry.”
According to a press release, this change was implemented through a “planned and deliberate transition involving the board and previous executive director over several months.”
Nelson said VanOstrand, who will continue to serve as a contributory volunteer for the ministry, has been “instrumental to the recent success of New Beginnings and has put her heart and soul into the ministry for many years.”
VanOstrand thanked the community for its support during her time at New Beginnings, and said she is confident Lasater will be “a strong leader to grow New Beginnings.”
