BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO HOUSE FIRE THURSDAY

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to a house fire at 502 West Fifth Street Thursday afternoon at 2:15.  The fire reportedly began in the kitchen and quickly filled the home with smoke.  Firemen donned air packs to enter the home and extinguish the fire.  Fire damage was confined to the kitchen, but there was smoke damage though-out the home.  The home owners were able to escape the house and no one was reportedly injured in the fire.  Update @ 7 a.m. Friday: According to the fire department, the cause of the fire was from unattended food on the stove.
