COVID-19 VACCINES FOR ENROLLED VETERANS SATURDAY IN AUSTIN

Veterans 75 and older who are enrolled in VA health care can receive COVID-19 vaccines this weekend in Austin.

The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System will administer Moderna vaccines at a vaccine clinic Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Austin VA Outpatient Clinic at 7901 Metropolis Drive.

Veterans must bring their VA ID to verify enrollment and schedule their second dose, administered approximately 28 days after the first.  Both vaccines are required for maximum effectiveness.

Veterans can call 1-800-423-2111 and press #2 to book an appointment.  Due to high call volumes, callers may experience delays, but they must remain on the line to be scheduled.

In addition to pre-scheduled veteran appointments, accommodations for approximately 250 walk-in enrolled veterans 75 and older will be accepted until 2 p.m.

Vaccinations available through the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System are only for enrolled veterans at this time, not caregivers or family members.

Veterans will be vaccinated based upon vaccine availability.  Long wait times are expected, and vaccine supplies are limited.
