CITY OF NAVASOTA UNDER BOIL WATER ADVISORY AFTER WATER LINE BREAK

A water line break has put the City of Navasota under a boil water advisory.

Update @ 10:50 a.m.: Water was restored at low pressure in the morning hours today (Friday) after completing the pipe repair late Thursday.  Pressure is expected to increase as the day continues.

Residents should boil water used for drinking, cooking, and making ice until further notice, in order to ensure that harmful bacteria and other microbes have been destroyed.  In lieu of boiling, they can purchase bottled water or obtain water from another suitable source.

City officials said contractors were working at the intersection of Railroad Street and Johnson Street when they damaged a large water main.  The intersection will be closed for construction until further notice.

Anyone with questions can call the city at 936-825-6475, or 936-825-6410.
