FAYETTE CO. HOME DESTROYED IN FIRE
A Fayette County home is a total loss after a fire early Thursday morning.
Emergency responders were called out around 1 a.m. to a house fire on FM 2981, about a mile from Highway 159 northeast of La Grange.
Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies and the La Grange Fire Department arrived to find the house was fully engulfed, but the occupant was out of the home.
Assistance was requested from the Fayetteville and Round Top-Warrenton Fire Departments.
The fire was contained and extinguished, and units returned to service around 5 a.m.
The cause of the fire was reported by the occupant to have started from a wood burning stove.
