10TH ANNUAL TEXAS RANGER DAY SET FOR MARCH 27TH
Preparations have begun for the 10th Annual Texas Ranger Day in downtown Burton.
After last year’s event was cancelled due to COVID-19, the Burton Heritage Society is ready to celebrate the history of Burton on March 27th.
From noon to 5 p.m., guests will be able to experience authentic Texas Ranger camp life in the 1880’s, along with folk life demonstrations. There will also be weapons demonstrations by the Legends of the Texas Rangers and live re-enactments from the Old West Rangers.
Other activities will include the Annie Maud Avis Memorial Fajita and Bean Cook-off, DJ music from the Kountry Chick, crafts, tours, mule-driven buggy rides, a chuckwagon cooking display, and the Lil Mr. and Miss Ranger Contest at 1 p.m.
Admission to the event is free. Tickets for all-you-can-eat fajitas and beans are $10 for adults and $5 for children 5-10. All proceeds will benefit the restoration of the historic Mount Zion Chapel.
