LEE CO. JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SHOW AUCTION BREAKS ALL-TIME RECORD

  

A new record for sales was hit on Saturday at the 47th Annual Lee County Junior Livestock Show Auction.

Sales this year totaled $977,978, breaking 2019’s record of $804,735.  2020’s auction totaled $790,646.

Records were broken for grand champion steer, grand champion rabbits, and grand champion decorated cake.

Top sellers included the grand champion of Avanly Nietsche of Lincoln 4-H, which sold to Pumpco Inc. and QP Services for a record price of $20,000.  The reserve champion steer of Kensley Wolf of Lexington Jr. FFA sold for $14,500 to First National Bank of Giddings, Dig Tech, Diamond W, NT Ranch, Bud Cross Ford, Maass Performance Horses, CCC Cattle, 3D Enterprises, Aspen Midstream, Northwest Lee County Youth Supporters, L&K Livestock, Bull Creek Pipeline, Doug Hough, and Alpha Dog Testing.

The grand champion rabbits shown by Raylie Woelfel of Serbin 4-H sold for a record $6,500 to Richard’s Hot Oil Service, Appel Ford, and Woelfel’s Red Hollow Beefmasters.

The grand champion and record-breaking decorated cake of Elly Mersiovsky of Serbin 4-H sold for $8,500 to Serbin Jackrabbits, Carmine State Bank, Pieratt’s Pharmacy, Lee County EMS, Gourmet Divas, and Craig Mechanical.

Grand and reserve champions altogether sold for $175,275 in the auction, with $95,890 going to grand champions and $79,385 to reserve champions.
