MAN KILLED IN ROADSIDE ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 290 EAST OF BRENHAM

  

A Houston-area man was killed Thursday afternoon in a roadside accident on Highway 290, just east of Brenham city limits.

DPS reports that around 5:30 p.m., a 62-year-old man was working on his 2001 Chevy Silverado 3500 after it broke down on the side of the highway.

As the man tried to fix the truck, it began to roll away to the east.  According to DPS, the man attempted to get into the truck but fell, and the vehicle ran over him.

The name of the victim has not been released, as officials have been unable to contact the family to provide notification.
