HOME DEVELOPMENT, BAKER KATZ CONSTRUCTION LEADS MARCH BUILDING PERMITS
New homes and commercial construction led the month of March for building permits issued by the City of Brenham.
Eleven new homes were permitted in March for $1,579,892. The largest home permit was issued to Stylecraft Builders for $192,660 for a new home in the 2000 block of Vineyard Pass. So far this year, 25 new homes have been permitted for $3,217,652.
The largest individual permit in March was $906,000, issued to Arch-Con Corporation for continued construction of the Baker Katz shopping center project at the intersection of Highway 290 and Chappell Hill Street.
The city issued a total of 29 permits in March worth $3,299,408. Last March, the city issued 24 permits totaling $37,157,295, made up largely by the $27,703,383 permit for Blinn College’s new Science, Technology, Engineering and Innovation Building on the Brenham Campus.
Through 2021 so far, the city has issued 76 permits for $9,853,559. At this point last year, the city had issued 90 permits for $44,689,814.
