BLUE BELL FUN RUN IN-PERSON, VIRTUAL EVENTS BEGIN SATURDAY
The largest annual fundraiser for Brenham High School athletics gets underway this weekend.
The 43rd Annual Blue Bell Fun Run will incorporate both in-person and virtual elements upon its kickoff Saturday at Brenham High School. Runners in the half-marathon will begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 10K at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K at 9:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Fun Run Co-Director Tracy Campbell says a virtual run is also available starting Saturday for runners who cannot be at the high school but still want to participate.
In-person routes are available for the 5K, 10K and half-marathon. The Kids’ 1-Mile Run will only be held virtually.
All participants over 2 years old will be asked to wear face coverings while in the staging areas, and can remove them once they have passed the start line and can physically distance themselves from other runners. All volunteers, staff and sponsor representatives will be required to wear a face covering.
Each participant will receive a coupon for a pint of Blue Bell Ice Cream, a commemorative medal, and a t-shirt.
Registration is available through midnight on Friday. Runners can register and pick up their packets and bib numbers at the high school Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
