Police have released new details and identified the man who died in Thursday’s mass shooting in Bryan.

(Brazos Co. Jail)

40-year-old Timothy Smith of Bryan died at the scene of the shooting, which occurred at Kent Moore Cabinets around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Four others were critically injured in the shooting.  Bryan police said as of this (Friday) morning that two of the victims remain in critical condition, while two others are in stable condition.  A fifth person had non-life threatening injuries, and a sixth was taken to the hospital after suffering an asthma attack.

According to the police department’s arrest report, a co-worker of the suspect, 27-year-old Larry Winston Bollin of Iola, said Bollin first began firing at Smith with a handgun.  The co-worker said Bollin “emptied a magazine” in Smith’s direction before reloading and firing at others.

Bollin is also accused of shooting DPS Trooper Juan Rojas Tovar, who pursued him into Grimes County.  DPS says Tovar, of the Madisonville Highway Patrol Office, is in serious but stable condition at St. Joseph Health in Bryan.

Bollin remains in the Brazos County Jail with bond set at $1 million.  He has been charged with murder, and authorities say more charges are possible.
