EARLY VOTING UNDERWAY IN BRENHAM CITY AND SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS

  

 

Early Voting got underway Monday for the May 1st Brenham and Burton municipal and school board elections.

Over 460 votes were cast in the two Brenham elections.

According to Washington County Clerk Beth Rothermel, 231 people cast votes in the Brenham School Board Election, while 137 votes were cast in the Brenham City Council election.

The contested races for the Brenham School Board include: Board Vice President Melvin Ehlert facing Christine Giese and Jared Krenek; while incumbent Tommie Sullivan faces Michelle Walbeck; Board President Natalie Lange is running unopposed.

The Brenham City Council races feature Ward One incumbent Keith Herring facing Shannan Canales; Place Five at-large incumbent Clint Colby and challenger Allan Colvin; and the Place Six at large position between Leah Cook and Albert Buchanan.

Early Voting continues this week through Friday 8 am to 5 pm and next Monday and Tuesday 8 am to 8 pm at the Courthouse Annex at 100 S. Park St. in Brenham.

Curbside voting is also available to those who cannot physically get into the early voting polling place.  There is special parking in front of the Courhouse Annex for this.

Election Day is Saturday, May 1st.
