LOCAL POLICE MAKE PAIR OF ASSAULT ARRESTS

Two Brenham men have been arrested on assault charges in separate incidents, Saturday.

At around 1:30 a.m., Police responded to a home in the 2600 block of Cheyenne Drive in reference to a fight.

During the investigation, 24-year-old Edwin Martinez of Brenham was taken into custody for Assault Family Violence.

Martinez was transported to the Washington County Jail.

About 30 minutes later, police were dispatched to 1600 Block of South Jackson St. for a Welfare Concern.

Upon arrival, investigation revealed 30-year-old Alexander Grant of Brenham allegedly assaulted the victim who was identified in the call.

Grant was taken into custody for Assault of a Family/Household Member – Impeding Breath/Circulation.

He was transported to the Washington County Jail.

  1. How about the shooting in the old Washington area this weekend where 3 people were wounded? It is the wild, wild south around here. Guess we need more people carrying weapons, that will stop this problem, right?

    1. Are you suggesting that criminals are going to follow the law? Do you think that by denying law-abiding citizens the right to protect themselves that it will make society safer? How have the strict gun laws in Mexico worked out for those there that aren’t criminals? What about Chicago?

      1. Yep….Mexico has a total ban(cant own, cant possess) on handguns and assault rifles. Only shotguns and manual load rifles can be registered to an owner(for hunting since its becoming an economy booster). Yet Mexico has the highest rate of murder by firearm cases on the planet. Yep, u are correct, gun restrictions dont work because people kill people and will use whatever is available. Gotta figure out what leading to murders and stop that. Interesting you hear no word out of DC about whats causing people to snap do you? Because they care less, whatever helps the agenda no matter how many lives it takes….
