ONE OF TWO SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY AFTER MASS SHOOTING IN AUSTIN THAT INJURED 14

  

Update @ 7:35 p.m.: Austin police say one of two suspects in a mass shooting early this (Saturday) morning in downtown Austin has been taken into custody.  Police say 14 people were injured in the shooting, two of them critically, but no fatalities have been reported.

Original Story @ 6:15 a.m.: Thirteen people were injured in a shooting early this (Saturday) morning in downtown Austin, and police say no suspects are in custody.

The Austin Police Department said it responded to reports of gunfire just before 1:30 a.m. near the 400 block of East Sixth Street, a popular entertainment district in downtown Austin.

Interim Police Chief Joseph Chacon said as of 4 a.m., two of the people injured were in critical condition, but no one has died.

It is not yet clear what led up to the shooting.

Police said it is unknown if there is one or multiple suspects involved.  One suspect is described as a Black male with dreadlocks and a skinny build, wearing a black shirt.
