Hundreds of visitors came to downtown Brenham on Saturday to sample summer drinks like margaritas and hibiscus punch while enjoying varied art displays at local businesses.

According to Main Street Promotions Committee Chairman Tom Whitehead, all 500 glasses for the “Summer Sip and Art Walk” sold out through sales before and the day of the event.  He called it “a huge success,” and said it was “by far the most successful ‘Summer Sip’” that Main Street Brenham has hosted.

Whitehead added that while it was a very hot afternoon, that kept most participants inside the shops, shopping longer.

Proceeds from the event will go into the Main Street Brenham program for downtown projects and improvements.

Main Street Brenham thanks all of this year’s participating businesses, as well as the sponsors: Deep in the Heart Farms, Hermann Furniture, Appel Ford, J & A Roofing, Coldwell Banker Lindi/Camaron Team and Carli Conway, Bank of Brenham, Skincare by Shari, Las Americas Latin Cuisine and Timeless Designs Market.
